It’s new student orientation season, so we’re taking a break and rebroadcasting Episode 27 with Tom DiRoma. Back in 2015, Tom had just begun his new job as Assistant Director of Student Involvement at Lynchburg College. Tom attended SUNY Oswego during his undergraduate years, which naturally inspires a conversation about snow, cold, and even science, as Jackie continues to brave harsh winters while Tom and Lougan have other weather patterns to endure. Tom explains how exactly he landed at Lynchburg College by loosening his search requirements. We talk about orientation and Lynchburg’s unique “Hornet Days,” introducing new students to campus. We also talk about time management, something that is important not only for our students.

It’s been a busy end of the semester! We’re working on some new episodes that are coming soon, but in the mean time enjoy this great episode with Cassie Allen! We talked about all sorts of awesome stuff.
Episode 62 is filled with Geneseo and Albany pride, thanks to Cassie Allen, Assistant Director for Phoneathon and Young Alumni Giving at Siena College. Jackie and Cassie are both Geneseo alumnae living in Albany, so we chat a lot about both topics. Now that phoneathon is over, Cassie is back to a normal work schedule, and talks about what she’s been up to with her new-found free time. We talk about podcasts aside from our own, as well as Cassie’s rabbit, George. Jackie and Cassie also compare stories about times they’ve been mistaken for students on campus, something that makes Lougan feel old.

Jackie forgot to buy Lougan a birthday gift, so instead she let him off his editing duties! So this week, we’re rebroadcasting Episode 11 with Dave Cameron. It’s one of our favorite episodes, – you won’t be sorry!
Episode eleven features another guest from Ithaca NY, Dave Cameron, Recruitment Marketing Web Content Producer at Ithaca College. We start off by chatting about getting used to the strange world of higher education, and how even though we want to be productive all the time, none of us can ever really do it. Higher Ed Eats makes a comeback, with Dave giving us some unique recipes and cooking techniques. We play another fun round of “what were you doing when,” noting that Jackie is too young to think about a time when she didn’t have an email address, and the incoming class was born right around the time of Lougan’s laser jet printer. We sum up the podcast with things that make Jackie cry, and listing the things we have to do, but maybe don’t want to do.
