Jason Mollica is a professorial lecturer at American University’s School of Communication where he teaches all about social media and social media analytics. Jason is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience as a journalist, news producer and PR professional. On the show, Jason talks about his syllabuses (syllabi?) and how they were created, as well as an awesome certification opportunity for his students. Jason and Lougan nerd out about Marvel, Star Wars and sports. Jackie talks about the Bills. Everyone agrees that being happy in your job is the most important thing.

Episode 49 is with Jim Sargent, Assistant Director of Admissions and Coordinator of Transfer Admissions at Trinity College. Although his role is fairly new, Jim is not new to Trinity, previously working in Communications. We chat about transfer students and their needs, as well as resources on urban and suburban campuses. We tangent about Pokemon, cats, Star Wars, and rom coms, but get back on track when Jim explains Trinity’s new announcement; becoming test-optional.

Episode 47 welcomes recent graduate Brady Griffith, Life Coach at Maryville University. Naturally, we talk about Star Wars because Lougan had seen the new release since our last episode…more than once. Don’t worry, listeners, we cut out the spoilers. We determine that Lougan is in fact not a Star Wars uberfan, but does own a $600 lightsaber. We finally get around to asking Brady what a Life Coach really is, and he explained the relatively new concept in Higher Education and at Maryville. As a Maryville alumnus, Brady describes his transition from student to Life Coach, and how it benefits his new position. We’re excited to bring Brady back on the show to hear how the program has evolved!

Episode 46 is the first episode of season 2! We celebrate with Wimer Alberto, currently serving as the Senior Coordinator of Occupancy Management and Housing Operations at Arizona State University, but will soon be transitioning to Assistant Director for Guest and Conference Services. Because of his new role, we talk about the impact of conferences and other resources on campus, which universities are now beginning to take advantage of. With the recent Star Wars movie release, Lougan nerds out (a lot) especially because Jackie has finally seen a Star Wars movie! We close the show by talking about how our own studies shaped the way we view ourselves on our campuses, as well as Wimer’s post-graduate dreams.

We’re back with the big 4-0! We’ve been gone a while, and were asked by Dustin Ramsdell, one of our previous guests, to chat about our podcasts and do a little brainstorming. Well, we didn’t really talk much about the podcast, but we did talk about everything else. In a small town in Maine, Dustin talks about food choices, while Lougan expresses his deep-rooted love for Ramen. We talk a little about cats and sportsball, but then get to the good stuff – our podcasts! The conversation quickly digresses into podcasting in general, and then we talk about the future, and the future’s past, the present. Unsurprisingly, this ends the show with a full-out scifi geek session.
