In episode 72 we finally connect with Rebecca Stapley, Assistant Director of Multimedia and PR at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. Both Lougan and Rebecca come from an admissions background, and we spend a lot of time chatting about everything they’ve learned from the two departments. With the semester in full swing for everyone, we talk abut how to handle all our projects, but take time for ourselves. The weather is changing, as Jackie and Rebecca start to feel the fall while it still feels like summer over in Lougan’s neck of the woods. We also share our strategies on hiring and utilizing our student workers and volunteers as best we can.

We’ve made it to episode 70 with Ebru Kardan, Director of External Affairs and Communications at the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. We first address exactly what that means, as higher ed titles tend to include a lot of extra words in job titles. There’s some nerdiness in this podcast, in the form of Star Trek talk and Ebru’s famous beer can cat. We also talk about Untappd and call out many past guests for the beers they were drinking at the time, and Jackie explains a class she’ll be taking later this month.

It’s been a crazy week, so Jackie and Lougan decided to do a quick episode about what we’ve been up to. We’ve both received new job titles for the new academic year, and we’re both hard at work gearing up for the new semester. We also talk about our goals for the year, Jackie’s “reading” habits and Lougan’s favorite video game of all time Persona 4.
